Daimler – Chrysler Merger

Cross-border mergers are too different deals. In order to succeed cross-border mergers, companies succees depend on the relationship between heasdquarters and the host of offices, factories. So,the different national and corporate cultures must be related each other.
Daimler-Chrysler emulsion is an important example for the successful cross-border mergers. Two companies, one of them was Germany’s most profitable car company the border was the smallest but most efficient company met two years ago. America & Germany had important culturel differences. So, the Daimler Team think about and understood that they had to overcome 1 important issues.

○How could best they put together distinctive heritages?

They are confronted same problems during the two years. Some of them are financial. They solved them with obstaining detailed discussion of the cost-saving targets.
Especially in 1999 the merger prospects for seemed sceptical because of the abysmal period for the groups share price.

Some of the problems are operational.When in the car market is intensifying, competition competitors of market produced their own Chrysler efforts but it wasn’t enough to the sales. So Chrysler began a new $2 billion cost-cutting programme to increase its performance.

Daimler – Chrysler’s success depends on its opertional efficiency into new cars and higher levels of profit. It was early to say the merger has failed and the merger offers same important lessens to the other combining firms which were in different countries.

Daimler – Chrysler has tried to produce strategic ways of doing business. It’s not definite if Daimler – Chrysler fail sor achieves. As a result cross-border differences are critical factor for he achieve of the merger.
